One of our favorite things about fall camping – other than good whiskey around a good fire – is the food. Crisp outside air and a crackling fire makes everything taste better, including a camping classic: Mountain Pies.
Mountain pies – also known as pudgy pies, campfire pies, or hobo pies – are a quintessential camping snack. They’re made of two slices of bread and the filling of your choice, roasted over a campfire in a pie iron. They can be sweet or savory, but they’re always warm, ooey-gooey camping treats. Below are a few of our team’s all-time favorite mountain pie recipes. Pair these mountain pie recipes with Fox & Oden whiskey and our easy-to-make camping cocktails to create delicious camping memories.
